Remember the Fallen

A wonderful veteran in our parish spends Memorial Day weekend on the Woodstock overpass at Int. 81 playing patriotic music and waving a huge American flag. Dressed in camouflage, he stands his vigil hour after hour honoring his fallen brothers and sisters. Thanks, Art, for reminding us what semper fidelis means!

  1. I went to a beautiful mass served by a younger priest who just came back from Afganistan. He said that most of the soldiers who died on the battlefield were not even anointed since he seemed to be in all the wrong places at the time and could not get to them, and that there was a shortage of priests. He also said that some churches were having peace and justice Masses, but he felt this was the time to pray for the souls of those soldiers and all in the military in the past and now. I most heartily agreed with him.
